Making Momma Proud

After an extended blogging hiatus.... I am back. Much more to come over the next several weeks that will certainly answer those questions about our life as a family of 6.

However, today I want to celebrate 2 very special people in my life and congratulate them for their amazing accomplishments. They have also been my saving grace over the past 3 1/2 months and the many challenges that have come along with it.

First, is my sweet little girl. Alyssa's school has a "Mustang Stampede" every year during the final week of school. Despite forgetting to do any training at all, my little runner amazed us all. She won first in her age division, but also managed the fastest time for girls up to age 9 and all children up to age 8. Perhaps running is in her future. She can now officially outrun me. Way to go, Alyssa!

My second round of congrats go to my hubby! After 2 years of hard work, Mike has officially graduated with his Master's degree. It has been a whole lot of balance and sacrifice to get there, but he has done it. More impressively, he has completed his degree with a 4.0. Especially with our adoption right in the middle of his program, he has given up just about every bit of free time to get this done. Way to go, Babe! As Mike is celebrating his birthday today and it is the World Cup USA vs England game, he has elected to forgo his graduation ceremony. We held our own ceremony here at home this morning... complete with a make-shift cap and gown.
